There’s an old hot-rodder adage: “Chrome don’t get you home.” It means you can have the meanest looking ride at the drive-in, but if it isn’t set up to run fast, it won’t win.
In regards to software, if you don’t put in the “wrench time” to set it up properly to address your unique requirements and learn how to use it as it was designed, you will not reap the benefit for which you made the investment – information to run your business to improve profits.
Dana Shaw – an Aspire deployment expert – is doing exactly that with one of the most respected landscaping firms in Florida – Martex Landscapes of Amelia Island – a new client who bought Aspire to manage their business more effectively.
Dana met with the Martex team recently for two days to deploy the sales and account management systems built into Aspire. The following is a brief list of some of the “wrench time” set-up tasks designed to build in best practices and accountability reporting:
Implement CRM processes and reports for managing prospects and customers – including dashboard dials capturing bids, inspections, and services promised.
Design estimating templates to systematize the proposal and pricing process – in particular, building assemblies (we call them “kits”) to consistently estimate hours and costs for planting installations and enhancements that allow their Account Managers to produce work tickets with accurate hours, materials and subcontractor costs.
Integrate these templates and kits into proposals and reports for tracking job costs and WIP (work in progress) for profit center financial reporting.
The next steps in the deployment of the software include an aggressive go-live schedule to set-up all of Martex’s maintenance contracts and to train the crews to use Aspire’s mobile time app in the field. Based on the Martex team’s enthusiasm and dedication for their new systems, Dana Shaw estimates they will be up to full speed and “off to the races” in less than two months.
Aspire wishes to thank Tom-One, Tom-Two, Tracy and Jacob at Martex for their hard work and dedication to constant improvement within their company.
