Installing and learning a new software system can be a challenge, especially when it entails changing long-term behaviors (despite any dysfunction) to which you may be accustomed. Even when you know that these changes will ultimately help your entire team perform at a new level of efficiency and profitability, the adage rings true – old habits are hard to break.
Southern Arizona’s Northwest Landscaping experienced some of this during a recent Aspire Account Manager deployment visit, but instead of resisting change, they made great progress in adapting to the Aspire workflow and tools.
Thinking about Aspire as a tool to “work smarter, and not harder,” Northwest worked with Aspire’s Greg Malmberg, and developed the whiteboard (shown above) as a guide to establish the new rules of operation that will deliver the management information they wanted when they made the investment selecting Aspire as their business partner. Fun fact – that whiteboard was created at Northwest before Greg ever stepped into the training room.
Greg Malmberg and the Northwest team mastered the following aspects of the Aspire system:
Closing the month with accurate financial reporting
Using sales pipeline reports to manage the selling process
Developing easy-to-use bidding templates to increase speed and consistency in proposals
Creating an interactive Schedule Board to manage services and routes
Defining a purchasing processes to reduce waste in materials
Ensuring proper billing and invoicing for the work completed
Northwest’s initiative and drive to embrace the Aspire system resulted in a developing a standard business process that improved service levels and efficiency. Northwest will continue to train and communicate these processes to their production teams and crews in the near future. The goal? Better business practices, morale and results.
Aspire wishes to thank Jason Thorpe and the rest of the Northwest Landscaping team; Zelda, Chad, Glen and Kylee for their hard work and dedication to constant improvement within their company.
